I am anxious but nothing will happen unless I make it happen!
Please be kind to share the words. It will mean so much to me!
The goal of the Kansha Farm Project is to create a sustainable community where people from all over the world can gather to enrich themselves by learning to live in and with nature.
The inspiration for Kansha Farm was a desire to spread mindfulness, appreciation and responsibility to the people of the world living in modern societies where most things are increasingly abundant, convenient and only a click of a button away.
At Kansha Farm, we take nothing for granted and we are reminded of that daily when we honor our body through yoga and mediation practice or when we work the chemical free organic gardens to grow our own food. Sowing seeds, nurturing plants and regenerating the soil with organic farming methods demonstrates the importance of giving and when we harvest and use our produce as the staple of our sustainable diet we learn the beauty of receiving. Kansha Farm is the place to cultivate the appreciation of self and unity for all living things. Kansha, after all, means “gratitude” in Japanese.
Kansha Farm is located in a fertile valley between two active volcanoes on the border of Kagoshima and Miyazaki Prefectures in Southern Japan. The area is known among locals and foreign tourists for its beaches, oceanside drives, hot springs and National Parks. Nearby Aoshima beach is a great place to catch some waves. Mount Sakurjima and Mount Kirshima, with ample hiking trails, are within a half hour drive. Yakushima, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it’s untouched wildlife and ancient cedar forests, is a ferry trip away.

I was back in Japan to start a sustainable yoga farm for 6 months! I had no idea how to grow my own food but took a challenge on how I could be self sufficient. Applying the teachings of yoga, I put tiny effort to make my dream come true. I am so looking forward to seeing a transformation on the land and in myself.
Final goal of this project is to build a lovely and peaceful community where people can practice yoga daily, eat delicious farm to table meals, come and go at a bed & breakfast to restore and rejuvenate mind and body.
